Obstacles in the Path of Da’wah and Their Solutions.
Abstract
Conveying the message of Islam (Da’wah) is a fundamental duty and a noble endeavor in Islamic tradition, aimed at guiding humanity toward moral and spiritual rectitude. However, callers to Islam (Da’is) throughout history and in the contemporary era face numerous internal and external challenges that hinder the effective propagation of the faith. Grounded in the foundational texts of the Holy Qur'an and Sunnah, this paper identifies the primary obstacles encountered in the path of Da'wah and provides strategic, scripture-based solutions. Key obstacles examined include a lack of sound Islamic and contemporary knowledge, the absence of wisdom (Hikmah), internal sectarian divisions, societal prejudices, Islamophobia, and the misapplication of digital media. By analyzing the methodological approaches of the Prophets and Islamic scholars, this study proposes practical measures such as pursuing holistic education, cultivating exemplary moral character, adopting empathetic and wisdom-driven communication, leveraging modern technology, and fostering unity within the Muslim community. Ultimately, this research offers a practical framework for Da'is to navigate modern complexities and fulfill their responsibility with resilience, wisdom, and effectiveness.
